Summer Focus: limited palette figure painting

Dates: June 28, July 12 & 26, August 9 & 23

Through the nude figure I will teach students to see. Observation is the basis for all painting and with just a few colors we can acuratly portray what is around us. I will guide the students through a number of fundamental ideas, such as drawing with paint, controlling paint, viewing and representing edges, and warm and cool color relationships.

My goal is to present a solid foundation for students wanting to learn the fine art of oil painting, to share knowledge for the advancement of the student in a fun and intense environment, and give the foundation necessary to produce full color, finished paintings.

No experience necessary.

Cost: $150, this includes the modeling fee. Payment due after each class.

Supplies: 4 16 x 20 canvases toned with a neutral grey, titanium white, cadmium orange, viridian, manganese violet, size 2 and 4 bristle filbert brushes
